Over 20 international students gathered at the Pi Community on Qidu Island, Lucheng district, Wenzhou on Sept 8, to brainstorm the construction of a youth development-oriented city through international perspectives.

As one of 45 cities in China to pilot the development of a youth-friendly society, Wenzhou has rolled out plans to seek improvements in education, employment, accommodation, living, heath, and security for young people.

"Wenzhou is an open and dynamic city that will bring more policy and financial support to young people," said an international student.

"Wenzhou is striving to become a hub of youth innovation and entrepreneurship, so it is in urgent need of international talent," another student added.

Pi Community, the host site of the event, also signed cooperative deals with the Thomas J. Watson Research Center in the United States and the Barcelona Overseas Incubator in Spain.

The former will carry out cooperation in areas such as youth exchanges, innovation and entrepreneurship education, and talent introduction services, while the latter will promote information sharing and intermediate services for technological achievements in environmental protection technology, new energy, and achieving peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality.

Pi Community, which was named after the circular constant to bring out the spirit of infinite possibilities, power and hope, has been active in inviting young scientists, entrepreneurs, investors and artists from across the world to participate in multi-level and cross-disciplinary scientific and cultural exchanges and cooperation.

The community currently focuses on fields such as life sciences, bio-safety, climate change, clean energy, and future technology, and aims to contribute to the shared future for mankind, according to Wang Meng, founder of the community.  (ZhongXin)
