The 2nd Nanxi River Gardenia Cultural Tourism Festival in 2023 was held in Bilian, Yongjia

During the blooming season of gardenia, on the morning of June 2nd, the 2nd Nanxi River Gardenia Festival was held in Shaoyuan Village, Bilian Town, Yongjia County, Wenzhou City. Pan Jianyong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Yongjia County, and Zhu Peizhen, vice chairman of the CPPCC of Yongjia County, attended the event.

As you climb up the mountainside of Shaoyuan Village, you can see white flowers dotted among the shiny green leaves, and the strong fragrance fills the air, refreshing the mind and body. Looking from afar at a high place, it is a scene of"suspicious frost-wrapped leaves, resembling snow-covered branches". The event began with a song and dance performance themed around gardenia. At the scene, the people's governments of Bilian Town signed framework agreements for"Gardenia Common Prosperity" and"Common Prosperity Technical Assistance" with Henan Zhongda Hengyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Subtropical Crop Research Institute, respectively. Youqiao Ecological Agriculture Company also signed a"Common Prosperity Seedling Assistance" agreement with representatives of farmers. Afterwards, Pan Jianyong announced the official opening of the Gardenia Festival.

It is reported that Bilian Town currently has an area of 1,200 mu for gardenia cultivation, mainly used for the production and sale of gardenia oil, gardenia tea, and gardenia noodles. It is expected that the output value will reach 15 million yuan this year. According to the signing of the agreement this time, Bilian Town will guide farmers in Bilian and surrounding towns to plant gardenia through cooperation between the government and enterprises with Henan Zhongda Hengyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. They aim to achieve a planting area of 5,000 mu. Zhejiang Subtropical Crop Research Institute will assist Yongjia county in conducting experiments on gardenia planting base germplasm resources, seedling technology, key cultivation technology, and product development technology, and help farmers solve technical problems to promote the upgrading of agriculture industry in Bilian Town. 

In recent years, gardenia enterprises in Bilian Town have continuously driven villagers to become rich through the development path of"industry + farmers". Relying on gardenia flowers, they drive the development of surrounding industries through deep processing of products and characteristic tourism, leveraging the"flower economy." Through this contract signing, enterprises will provide farmers with planting technology training and guidance, and provide gardenia standardized planting plans, while ensuring purchase protection prices.
