Ten international young people followed in the footsteps of Marco Polo, experiencing the beauty of Wenzhou from an international perspective. They explored the ancient town of Nanxi, the Taishun Corridor Bridge, the Sea Garden, and the Thousand-Year Ou Kiln Ancient Town, among other places, and recorded their journey in the form of a reality show called Encountering Wenzhou: A New Marco Polo Travelogue. The show aims to spread Wenzhou's culture through the eyes of young people and their personal experiences.
Through Encountering Wenzhou, we have seen the cultural heritage of Wenzhou, known as the thousand-year-old commercial port , as well as its modern vitality and vigorous development, said one foreign participant.
The show uses short videos, a popular format among young people, to showcase cultural and international exchanges from a youthful perspective. With interactive experiences, travel logs, and a focus on the everyday lives of locals, the show brings Wenzhou's culture to life and makes it more accessible to a wider audience.
This is the second season of Encountering Wenzhou, a city promotion brand created by Wenzhou after the first season, Encountering Wenzhou in Steiermark, was a success. The second season consists of 17 episodes, which will be broadcasted on Wenzhou TV Economic Science and Education channel, as well as on various new media platforms such as Tencent, Toutiao, and Wenzhou Release. The show will also be broadcasted overseas, making it a powerful tool for promoting Wenzhou's culture to the world.
Recently, the 2023 Tell China's Stories International Creative Communication Competition was launched in Wenzhou, aiming to explore new ways of promoting China's culture to the world and encouraging more foreigners to participate. Encountering Wenzhou: A New Marco Polo Travelogue is a great example of how to promote Wenzhou's culture to the world and contribute to the construction of a large-scale external communication network.(Cai Huihui)
