In the spirit of promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning, and showcasing the common ideals and aspirations of human society, the"2023 Belt and Road ASEAN Business Leaders Summit" was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand on June 27th, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. The event was both timely and significant. Attendees included Prince Chakriwat of Thailand, Prince Shan of Thailand, General Anan Dijcha, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, representatives from Chinese entrepreneurs and artists, as well as Thai business representatives.
He Bikuo, the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage"Jiazhu Lacquerware" in Wenzhou Longgang, and the director of the Wenzhou Jiazhu Lacquerware Museum, attended the summit with his self-designed"Ouqifang" brand lacquerware products. He was honored on-site as the"China-Thailand Exchange Art Ambassador" and"China-Thailand Cultural International Arts and Crafts Master." This recognition reflects the high affirmation and praise from members of the Thai royal family, as well as the ASEAN-China Business Council, towards Mr. He Bikuo and the intangible cultural heritage of"Jiazhu Lacquerware" in Longgang. It also serves as a cultural bridge between Longgang and ASEAN countries, particularly Thailand.
During the event, Mr. He Bikuo introduced the history of Wenzhou lacquerware and its relationship with Southeast Asian countries to the attending leaders and guests. As early as the Song and Yuan dynasties, Wenzhou lacquerware was a major export product of China's foreign trade, continuously flowing into Southeast Asia through the maritime Silk Road and gaining popularity among the people of various countries. Mr. He expressed his deep honor in presenting his"Ouqiongfang" brand lacquerware products to the Thai royal family and expressed his hope for more cultural exchanges in lacquer art with ASEAN countries, including Thailand, through such channels.
