"Industrial City, Forging the Future" - One Hundred City Experience Officers and Chamber of Commerce Presidents Explore Longgang City

In celebration of the fifth anniversary of its transition from town to city, Longgang embarks on a new chapter in urban development. On March 14th, the event"Industrial City, Forging the Future" brought together one hundred city experience officers and Chamber of Commerce presidents to immerse themselves in Longgang's offerings.

The event welcomed nearly 30 Chamber of Commerce presidents from diverse regions, overseas Chinese leaders of Wenzhou descent, and entrepreneurs to partake in Longgang's urban exploration. They visited key sites including the Municipal Administration Hall, Longgang Sub-park of Wenzhou High-tech Zone's Industrial Collaborative Innovation Center, China Power Investment's New Energy Technology Company, and the Central Business District of Longgang New City. Through on-site investigations and discussions, these participants, serving as city experience officers, delved into the novel developments, transformations, and ambiance of the"City of Reform". They deliberated on the development of Longgang's"Industrial New City" with a vision for a promising future.

Xu Lixin, President of the Jiangsu Chamber of Commerce in Wenzhou, lauded the central hub for enterprise services established by Longgang's Enterprise Integrated Service Center. During the meeting, he remarked,"The business environment is crucial for our enterprises, and the enhanced conditions post Longgang's administrative value-added service reforms are truly commendable".

Since its transition from a town to a city, Longgang has continuously enhanced its business environment through pioneering administrative service value-added reforms. Striving to become the city with the most favorable business environment, the Longgang Enterprise Integrated Service Center consolidates 1,612 enterprise-related approval processes from 18 departments, creating 14 value-added service zones to offer businesses comprehensive services throughout their operations.

The enthusiasm for serving enterprises and the improved business climate were frequently lauded by the city experience officers. Su Xiaowei, President of the Shaanxi Chamber of Commerce in Wenzhou, expressed deep admiration for Longgang's leading business environment following his on-site visit. The dedication to serving enterprises in Longgang has reached an impressive level. Yao Hong, President of the Liaoning Chamber of Commerce in Wenzhou, shared that even at 11 p.m., Longgang's city leaders were actively responding to work messages, emphasizing their commitment to city development. She highlighted the business-friendly atmosphere and urban vitality that will continue to resonate with Chamber of Commerce entrepreneurs, encouraging more to recognize, understand, and select Longgang.

Since 2022, Longgang has been hosting the"New Year's First Conference" focusing on optimizing the business environment. Through esteemed treatments such as"sitting in the C seats" and"honoring recognitions", exceptional entrepreneurs are acknowledged. The city is dedicated to creating the most favorable business environment. Li Qing, Chairman of the Longgang Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, disclosed,"In 2023, Longgang integrated 50 units into the investment promotion cadres, forming a comprehensive investment promotion strategy across Longgang. Leveraging the advantages of administrative value-added service reforms, we promptly address enterprise needs and meet their expectations."

In 2023, Longgang's GDP reached 40.949 billion yuan, representing an 8.7% growth rate, ranking first in Wenzhou and third in Zhejiang Province. Longgang consistently maintained a top-ten position in the province for seven consecutive quarters. Among 39 key economic indicators, Longgang claimed the top spot in Wenzhou in 12 areas and ranked in the top three in 21 areas, surpassing the Wenzhou average in 32 areas. Looking ahead to 2024, Longgang will prioritize strategic emerging industries such as new energy, new materials, integrated circuits, and smart manufacturing, along with future industries like quantum technology, life sciences, future networks, artificial intelligence, and drones. The city aims to seize opportunities in new materials and technologies, establish an integrated industrial cluster, enhance smart manufacturing industries, and sculpt Longgang's industrial landscape with a diverse array of impactful projects.

Zheng Xianjie, President of the Italy-China Peace and Unity Promotion Association, expressed profound admiration for Longgang's dynamic business atmosphere and rapid economic growth following his visit. The new industries and investment projects in Longgang have captured his attention, prompting him to continuously advocate for Longgang's investment projects and policies overseas. Lu Yi, President of the Wenzhou Overseas Student Entrepreneur Association, commended the influential"China Printing City" business identity of Longgang, emphasizing the importance of consolidating talent and intellectual support within the printing and packaging industry. He suggested expanding the overseas Chinese investment platform to better serve overseas Chinese and contribute to their homeland. Cheng Jian, President of the Anhui Chamber of Commerce in Wenzhou, anticipates that Longgang will leverage its local culture, traditional commerce, and innovative reforms to amalgamate traditional strengths, rich cultural heritage, and operational efficiencies, thereby amplifying the ripple effects of investment and business development.

With a focus on innovative practices and future strategies in Longgang's traditional industry transformation and advancement of new sectors, the city experience officers expressed heightened confidence in investing and conducting business in Longgang.
