Recently, Wenzhou Science and Technology Bureau issued a policy implementation notice, offering a reward of 7.5 million yuan to seven newly selected provincial-level leading technology enterprises and technology unicorn enterprises for their innovative accomplishments in 2023. This substantial financial support aims to bolster these enterprises in their pursuit of further achievements in the realm of innovation.
In accordance with the regulations of Wenzhou, newly recognized provincial-level leading technology enterprises and technology unicorns shall be awarded up to 1.5 million yuan and 1 million yuan respectively. For last year, the former was REPT BATTERO while the latter were Changjiang Automobile Electronic, Zhejiang Risesun Science and Technology, FOX ESS, Zhejiang Juchuang Smartech, Weidouli Valves, and Jinggong Valve. Presently, Wenzhou boasts a total of 20 such enterprises, including 5 leading ones and 15 unicorns.
Wenzhou’s high-tech enterprise and industry dark horse focusing on the R&D and sales of lithium-ion batteries, REPT BATTERO was awarded 1.5 million yuan.“Mastering core technology is our key to the leading position,” said a person in charge. With technological innovation at its core, the company has developed over 1,000 patented technologies, obtained over 100 international certifications, and introduced a series of new products through indigenous research and development. All these are solutions to key technical challenges within the energy industry.
REPT BATTERO’s growth trajectory epitomizes the ongoing efforts of Wenzhou to elevate the role of enterprises as drivers of innovation. In recent years, the city has embarked on a comprehensive implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy by carrying out the“Double Increase” Action Plan and expediting the establishment of a growth ecosystem for technology enterprises, spanning small and medium-sized technology, high-tech, technology unicorn, and leading technology enterprises. This concerted effort aims to continually enhance their indigenous innovation capabilities. Moreover, Wenzhou is building incubation hubs to provide enterprises with tailored guidance and support that address the“growing pains” in technology, talent, and other aspects. (ZhongXin)
