“Made in Wenzhou” accelerating its global reach

According to Wenzhou Customs, Peidi Animal Nutrition Technology Co., Ltd. recently obtained the Authorized Economic Operator(AEO) certificate issued by Hangzhou Customs, becoming the first pet food production company in Zhejiang Province to receive AEO. Up to now, 19 companies in Wenzhou have achieved the AEO certification, and 5 more are in the process of being cultivated for it.

“At the beginning of this year, we received orders for chew bones from Walmart”, said Zheng Xianglan, Vice President of Peidi Animal Nutrition Technology Co., Ltd. The goods on the production line are expected to be packed and delivered this month.“Peidi” is a key enterprise in Pingyang County and is also recognized as a“Famous Export Brand in Zhejiang”. As a supplier of Walmart’s leather chew bones and meat snacks for pets,“Peidi” undergoes regular factory inspections by Walmart to assess its internal management and creditworthiness.

“In March 2023, during the‘Door-to-Door Policy Explanation by Customs Chief’ event promoting the AEO policy,‘Peidi’ promptly applied for AEO cultivation”, said Han Song, Chief of the Enterprise Management Section at Wenzhou Customs. After understanding the company’s needs, Wenzhou Customs conducted a comprehensive assessment of Peidi’s overall business operations, including its development history, current organizational structure, foreign industrial layout, and recent foreign trade. Based on this information, Wenzhou Customs developed a personalized credit cultivation plan for Peidi.

During the cultivation period, Wenzhou Customs officers provided comprehensive improvement suggestions on key areas such as document control, premises security, personnel safety, cargo security, and business partner security, taking into account the specific circumstances of Peidi and the AEO certification standards.“Throughout the credit cultivation process, the customs helped us address many issues and elevate the overall management level of our company,” stated Zheng Xianglan.“All subsidiaries under the Peidi Enterprise have also undergone standardized rectification according to the latest standard.”

It is reported that Wenzhou Customs regards credit cultivation as a crucial driver for promoting high-level openness and high-quality development. Tailoring its services to the specific internal management characteristics of private enterprises in the city, Wenzhou Customs contributes to the global reach of“Made in China” and domestic brands, while also spearheading the implementation of certification systems within private economic industrial clusters.
