The Service Industry Survey Center of the National Bureau of Statistics recently sent a team to Wenzhou to evaluate the city’s service industry statistics, the fifth national economic census and other related work. The team commended Wenzhou for its statistical work in the service industry and its successful implementation of statistical reforms.
During their visit, the research team toured various enterprises and parks, including Zhejiang San’ao Nuclear Power Plant, China Eye Valley Incubation Park, and Zhejiang Digital City Brain Co., Ltd. to gain insight into their production and operations. A symposium was also held with representatives from eight service industry companies such as Beijing Deheng (Wenzhou) Law Office, Zhejiang Zhongcheng Technology Co., Ltd., and Wenzhou Zongyuan Culture Media Co., Ltd. to discuss statistical work in the service industry.
Wenzhou’s service industry is experiencing rapid growth and has become a key driver for economic development and a primary ground for cultivating new business forms and models. Peng Yongtao, director of China Statistical Information Service Center, emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to deepen reforms of the methodology and system in Wenzhou’s service industry to achieve even greater success, as well as to share the city’s experiences and best practices with the rest of the country. Since the insights and perspectives of grassroots enterprises play a vital role in guiding statistical work and understanding industry trends, it is crucial for statistical departments at all levels to enhance research and analysis to accurately reflect the economic performance of the service industry in a timely, efficient and comprehensive manner.(ZhongXin)
