Recently, the land-saving model of the Wenzhou airport transportation hub was selected by the Ministry of Natural Resources. It is one of the three land-saving cases from Zhejiang and only 38 cases are selected nationwide.
In the“Recommended Catalogue of Land-Saving Technologies and Models (Fourth Batch)” released by the Ministry of Natural Resources, it mainly focuses on space expansion from the given land, underground resources, investment and digital technology. This catalogue includes typical cases of land-saving technologies and models in infrastructure, public service facilities and industrial parks, guiding other regions to further improve the land use efficiency and promote high-quality urban-rural development.
Among all the selected cases, Wenzhou airport transportation hub is a typical case of"using underground space instead of aboveground". It covers a total area of approximately 15.6 hectares with a total construction area of about 268,000 square meters. Besides Wenzhou Longwan International Airport, the hub integrates aviation transportation, municipal railway transit, long-distance bus transportation, large parking lots, hotels, commercial services, and office spaces. The spaces are wisely planned and allocated by functions. The underground area is used for rail transit and airport support. The ground spaces are for passenger stations and parking buildings, and the aboveground spaces are for business offices and hotels. This integrated model has effectively saved 235 acres of land.
In recent years, Wenzhou has vigorously implemented a comprehensive conservation strategy, aiming to improve both land-saving levels and output efficiency. The main purpose is"increasing development from given resources." Through continuous innovations, the"Wenzhou practice" of efficient and intensive land-using has achieved remarkable results. In 2023, Wenzhou was chosen as a pilot city for the redevelopment of inefficient land. Yueqing and Rui’an successfully established themselves as the first batch of national demonstration cities for the conservation and intensive use of natural resources. On April 23 this year, Wenzhou was recommended by the Ministry of Natural Resources to promote its experiences of land-using at a national conference. Since 2024, Wenzhou has supplied 18,500 acres of various construction land, completing 53.8% of the annual task, a year-on-year increase of 16.5%. Additionally, 12,700 acres of"approved but not supplied" land have been cleared, a year-on-year increase of 40.7%, the highest in the past 3 years.
Previously, the project of rooftop sports park of the Wenzhou Sewage Treatment Plant and the innovation of old industrial blocks transformation were also introduced nationally as outstanding examples. So far, 3 typical land-saving cases from Wenzhou have been promoted by the Ministry of Natural Resources.(ZhongXin)
