On September 26, the 2024 Digital CreatorConference kicked off in Taishun, bringing together numerous digital creators from both domestic and international backgrounds in Taishun,the city of mountain.

Digital creators moved around the venue, sharing their experiences in Taishun. Young folk singer Zheng Lina expressed her feelings through song amidst the green mountains and clear waters of Taishun. Qiu Wenjing, a commercial personal media influencer shared that only by harnessing the power of the internet can one break through the limitations of time and space, becoming a digital creator in pursuit of freedom and self-expression. They found their poetry and enterprising dreams among the mountains and waters of Taishun.
Digital creators are those who rely on the internet to work and generate income, regardless of their work place. Statistics show that the average age of digital creators is 32, with many living in rural areas or small towns. By the end of 2023, the number of this group in China reached between 70 million and 100 million.
To attract more digital creators, the conference presented great sincerity and warm welcome, introducing the“Ten Initiatives for Digital Creators in Taishun,” which includes a substantial funding pool and opportunities for creation tourism.Besides, this initiative aims to establish a hundred“Peach Blossom Springs,”which are the suitable placesproviding resource support for digital creators to work, create a funding pool of a ten-million-yuan scale, and implement a“One Card Pass” for 10,000 digital creators to explore Taishun freely.
On the same day, Taishun unveiled the first national standard for digital creator residency.This standard was guided by Research Center for Audiovisual Communication School of Journalism and Communication,Tsinghua University.It outlines three main principles: openness and friendliness, joint contribution and shared benefit, and diversity and inclusiveness. Besides, It also sets norms for site selection, space construction standards, digital platform building, and operational management.
Currently, Taishun has established 13 digital makerspaces, including Elink East China Grand Canyon, Xu’ao Di•Xuli, NOWhere Wuyou Village, Jiaoyang Tulou, Wenxiang Lake Theme Park, Lan’s Langsi Coffee Manor, Kucun, Lu Li, Nanshan Li, and Kongshanyin. Scattered throughout the lush mountains and clear rivers, these spaces have attracted over 8,000 digital creators to live a life of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Additionally, the Wenzhou Digital CreatorIndustry Alliance was inaugurated.(ZhongXin)
