Wenzhou Vocational & Technical College’s International Students Visit Wangli for Exchange and Study

On November 21st, representatives of international students from Wenzhou Vocational & Technical College gathered at Wangzhou Mountain to deeply experience the beautiful scenery, unique culture, and development achievements of the water town.

"On the NBA court, there are also mops produced by us." In the exhibition hall of Wangli Town Cangnan Recycling Economic Industrial Park, international students listened to an introduction to the industrial development of Wangli Town and learned in detail about the national pilot work of recycling and utilization of waste textiles and other standardization efforts. It is reported that Wangli Town's cleaning supplies and pet toy products are exported to more than 120 countries and regions around the world, with cleaning supplies widely entering NBA, Asian Games, hospitals, high-speed trains, airports, and other places.

Subsequently, the representatives of international students visited Haosheng Cotton Spinning Co., Ltd., Luteng Cotton Spinning Co., Ltd., and Xingtai Cleaning Supplies Co., Ltd., and inspected the production process of each enterprise to understand the development status of the enterprises. After understanding the development achievements of Wangli's advantageous industries, everyone praised it and said that Wangli's development experience will bring important reference value to their own professional research.

As a township of industry and trade, Wangli currently has two national-level golden business cards, which are the"China's First Town of Cleaning Supplies" awarded in 2021 and the first national recycling and utilization of waste textiles as a national circular economy standardization pilot approved in 2023. At present, there are more than 800 cotton spinning industry enterprises registered in the town, with more than 8,000 employees. Cangnan County Recycling Economy Small and Micro Enterprise Innovation Park and Ma'an Cotton Spinning Small and Micro Enterprise Industrial Park have been put into use, with a total of 110 enterprises settled. Subsequently, the town will actively promote the establishment of a recycling and utilization system for waste textiles, encourage enterprises to actively participate in the formulation of industry standards, and strive to obtain the first batch of standard certifications for related circular economy projects to establish a first-mover advantage.

"Chinese culture is very wonderful, this is a very unforgettable experience." Zhibek, an international student from Kyrgyzstan, watched the Yue Opera performance with everyone at the Ma'an Village stage and exclaimed. At the scene, everyone was immersed in the graceful melody and personally experienced it. Under the guidance of the teacher, they tried to imitate the posture and singing, showing a different charm. Every detail reveals the delicacy and deep feelings of Yue Opera. As the second largest opera genre in China, Yue Opera has conquered the hearts of every international student representative present with its unique charm, and has stimulated everyone's strong interest in traditional culture.

Walking on the waterfront promenade, the representatives of international students visited the Wangli Town Cultural Living Room, where various new and old cotton spinning equipment such as manual looms, foot-operated cotton carding machines, electric cotton opening machines, and cotton yarn machines are displayed, recording the development and changes of Wangli's textile industry, making everyone deeply feel the industry and rural culture of Wangli. Liu Daming, an international student from Kyrgyzstan, shared,"This visit to Wangli left a deep impression on me. I really like the theme and architectural style here, especially the long history of the industrial development process, which makes me feel very shocked."

"Chinese Kung Fu is well-deserved." At the Laoyuan Stick Technique Hall in the Cooperative Community, the representatives of international students visited and experienced the"Laoyuan Stick Technique," a non-material cultural heritage of Wenzhou, and exclaimed. It is reported that"Laoyuan Stick Technique" originated in Jiediyuan Village, Wangli Town, in 1831, and has been passed down for nearly 200 years, and has been inherited for nine generations. On the scene, everyone watched the martial arts performances such as Laoyuan Long Stick Two and a Half Steps and Laoyuan Short Stick Sparring, and understood the development process and characteristics of the stick technique. Looking at the concentrated display of the stick technique, it is amazing, and everyone picked up the long stick and"asked for advice" from the master on the scene.

The"Hufa Temple Bridge and Tower," commonly known as the"Tang Tower and Song Bridge," is a national cultural relics protection unit, which was announced by the State Council in May 2013 and is located in the canyon of Hufa Temple Village, Wangli Town. In front of Hufa Temple, there is a river, and there is a small bridge, commonly known as Hufa Temple Bridge, and there is a tower next to the bridge, commonly known as Hufa Temple Tower. Here, cultural landscapes and natural landscapes blend vividly, and everyone is looking for the traces left by the years, feeling the profound charm of history.
