Zhejiang National Physical Fitness Test Competition Held in Longgang, Wenzhou

From December 4th to 5th, the 2024 Zhejiang Province National Physical Fitness Standard Achievement Test Competition took place at the Longgang Sports Center in Wenzhou. Over two hundred athletes from various regions across the province participated in this exciting event.

The competition included a series of tests such as the 10-meter shuttle run, 2-minute jumping jacks, plank hold, hexagonal agility jump, and sit-and-reach flexibility test. Awards were given for individual all-around performances and team total scores.

During the 10-meter shuttle run, participants dashed down the track with incredible speed and power, demonstrating remarkable explosive strength. In the 2-minute jumping jacks, athletes pushed their endurance to the limit with continuous jumps. The plank hold event showcased the competitors' perseverance and determination as they supported their body weight with unwavering resolve. The hexagonal agility jump required quick and coordinated movements within a hexagonal area, testing the athletes' coordination. Finally, the sit-and-reach flexibility test evaluated the contestants' ability to stretch forward, highlighting their flexibility. These events comprehensively assessed five key physical attributes: speed, endurance, strength, agility, and flexibility.

At the conclusion of the competition, the Shaoxing team claimed first place in the team total score category. The Wenzhou and Lishui teams secured second place, while the Jiaxing, Zhoushan, and Jinhua teams took third place. In individual categories, Liu Zhenglin from the Ningbo team won first place in the men's Group A all-around, Wang Xiqiu from the Wenzhou team topped the men's Group B all-around, Hu Mengting from the Shaoxing team excelled in the women's Group A all-around, and Yan Yongzhong from the Jiaxing team triumphed in the women's Group B all-around.

"This competition is not only a test of my physical fitness but also an opportunity to exchange and learn from other athletes," said a participant from the Hangzhou team."Through this event, I felt the strong atmosphere of nationwide fitness."

Notably, the National Sports Science Research Institute has launched an online self-assessment platform for the National Physical Fitness Standard. Participants who complete the assessments can obtain an electronic certificate of achievement.

This test competition aimed to promote fitness by assessing the effectiveness of athletes' physical training and providing accurate evaluations of their physical condition. It plays a crucial role in implementing the National Fitness Plan (2021-2025), fostering a fitness-friendly environment, and encouraging residents of Zhejiang Province to transform their exercise intentions into active behaviors.(Wei Hua)
