The Cangnan "Wealth Supply Caravan" drives into the mountains, boosting income for farmers in 11 mountainous townships

"Beep beep beep..." As the sound of car horns filled the air, villagers gathered at the entrance of the village committee, some lined up to purchase daily necessities, while others inquired about the prices for agricultural products, bringing liveliness to the once quiet mountain village.

Recently, the"Wealth Supply Caravan" from Cangnan County Supply and Marketing Cooperative in Wenzhou City arrived in Si Mu Village, Qiao Deng Town, providing villagers with a series of services including the purchase of specialty agricultural products, the delivery of reliable daily necessities to rural areas, and the introduction of agricultural supplies and technical expertise to villages. This initiative ensures that the high-quality products from farmers can be sold and that the daily needs of villagers can be met, supporting the shared prosperity dream of the mountainous communities.

"With the'Wealth Supply Caravan', we no longer have to worry about selling our produce!" exclaimed Liao Zhaofang, a 75-year-old villager who cultivates over 10 acres of tea and about 4 acres of gardenia jasminoides. The upcoming harvest will be fully purchased by the"Wealth Supply Caravan", with an expected increase in income of 50,000 yuan. According to Liao Baojiao, the secretary of the Si Mu Village Party branch, the annual output value of tea and gardenia jasminoides in Si Mu Village is currently estimated to reach 2 million yuan based on market prices. If all sales issues are resolved, Si Mu Village plans to make good use of over 1,000 acres of abandoned mountain land to expand the scale of their industry and increase farmers' income.

The Cangnan"Wealth Supply Caravan" has been implemented since 2022, aiming to bridge the"last mile" for agricultural products to move upwards and consumer goods to move downwards, effectively addressing the difficulties of buying, selling, and accessing services in remote mountainous areas. The"Wealth Supply Caravan" service alliance in Cangnan was established, integrating enterprises involved in the purchase of agricultural products, the sale of agricultural supplies, and the sale of daily necessities and consumer goods, forming an operational team for the"Wealth Supply Caravan" that covers agricultural supply, daily necessities distribution, agricultural product purchase, and financial services for farmers. Through channels such as agricultural product exhibition and sales events, supermarket-to-farm linkages, e-commerce transactions, and targeted orders, it helps high-quality agricultural products to leave the mountains and enter the cities.

Up to now, the Cangnan County Supply and Marketing Cooperative has signed"Wealth Supply Caravan" cooperation agreements with 11 mountainous townships, opened 11 service routes, served a total of 164 administrative villages, and purchased over 2.3 million jin (a unit of weight) of agricultural products such as tea leaves, gardenia jasminoides flowers, and nori, with a total purchase amount reaching 5.04 million yuan.(ZhongXin)
