At the heart of this transformation is the Wanfeng Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park in Tengqiao Town— a 122-mu (8.13-hectare) development currently in basement construction and slated for completion by October 2026. Designed as a vertical industrial complex, the park will rise across 27 modern buildings with over 190,000 square meters of floor space, integrating R&D, production, exhibition, and business incubation in a single ecosystem.
Breaking from traditional sprawling industrial zones, the project embraces a"factory in the sky" approach, stacking manufacturing and support functions across multiple floors. The layout includes 25 high-standard production buildings and two dormitory towers, enabling a seamless"work-live" environment that strengthens talent retention and operational efficiency. Factory spaces will be offered in modular configurations— by floor or by building— to serve startups, mid-sized firms, and large enterprises alike, functioning as a scalable"enterprise growth accelerator."
Construction milestones are progressing on schedule: the project is expected to reach structural"ground level" (positive zero) by mid-October 2024, with factory buildings topping out before the Lunar New Year and dormitories completed by March 2025.
Strategically positioned in Tengqiao— a key industrial growth pole in western Wenzhou— the park leverages the town's established equipment manufacturing base to cultivate a dynamic industrial ecosystem. It aims to foster a"rainforest-style" innovation cluster, where leading R&D-driven firms coexist with agile SMEs, accelerating supply chain integration and technological collaboration.
The Wanfeng project exemplifies Lucheng's dual strategy of precision investment attraction and industrial upgrading. By repurposing high-value urban land for smart manufacturing, the is not only addressing spatial constraints but also positioning itself at the forefront of China's next-generation industrial transformation.
As one of the most ambitious vertical industrial developments in southern Zhejiang, the park is set to become a benchmark for compact, sustainable, and innovation-driven industrial growth in China's rapidly urbanizing regions.(Ting wei)
