Wenzhou from May 20th to 21st. Hosted by the Zhejiang Sports Bureau and the Zhejiang Sports Federation, the"Welcome Asian Games, Sports Nanxi" Zhejiang Youth Street Dance Challenge was held at the Nanxi River Beach Music Park in Yongjia, Wenzhou. Nearly 1,000 youth street dance enthusiasts ignited their passion and youth attitude towards the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games through a series of exciting competitions.
The Challenge Tournament included three categories: self-compiled group dance, break dance, and free style battle dance. Among them, the break dance category will debut at the Asian Games for the first time. The organizers stated that this challenge not only provided youth with a platform to showcase their dance talents but also served as a catalyst to promote street dance culture in Nanxi River and create a festive atmosphere for the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Street dance is full of visual impact and rhythm. This challenge is held in Yongjia, a thousand-year-old county with a rich history. The picturesque scenery of the Nanxi River area was used as the competition venue, integrating street dance events into local cultural tourism. By combining sports with camping, leisure tourism, and other elements, the event aimed to create a sports brand with Nanxi River characteristics. In addition to the competition, participants, parents, and audiences were able to experience street dance, camping, markets, food, and enjoy a pleasant weekend amidst the beautiful landscape of Nanxi River.
According to the relevant person in charge, Yongjia will also launch more high-standard and high-quality Nanxi River International Outdoor Leisure Carnival Series events, starting with this street dance challenge. Leveraging this momentum, they hope to establish the"Poetry and Painting of Yongjia, Sports of Nanxi" brand, bringing more sports projects, trends, youth power to Yongjia. Promoting the integration of"Sports + Tourism" development, they aim to build a high-quality domestic tourist destination and welcome guests from all directions, making Nanxi River truly a sports paradise for"competition among picturesque landscapes and enjoying a new life."
It is understood that breakdance has a wide range of mass bases in Zhejiang Province. Currently, there are more than 20,000 registered street dance athletes and over 500 professional coaches in the province. To better support the development of street dance talent and the industry in 26 mountainous counties, the Zhejiang Street Dance Sports Association has initiated the"Public Welfare Teaching in Mountain Primary Schools" Action. They called on street dance sports associations across the province to teach street dance courses in mountain primary schools, enabling children in mountainous areas to strengthen their body through vibrant street dance movement and hone their spirits to persevere and never give up. In this activity, the Wenzhou City Street Dance Sports Association officially paired with the Yongjia Gangtou Primary School and will hold more cooperation and interaction in the future.
